Residential Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive – Private Wealth Team, Marks Tey

Due to expansion we have a rare opportunity for an experienced Residential Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive at Associate level or above to join our Private Wealth Team.

The role involves working with high‑net‑worth clients on complex residential transactions while delivering outstanding client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of 60‑80 active files from commencement to completion, including post‑completion stages, with support from a paralegal and wider business support team.
  • Provide quotes to new clients and act as the first point of contact, establishing relationships from the start.
  • Progress files as required – preparing title and search reports, raising enquiries, etc.
  • Exchange and complete files.
  • Advise clients throughout the transaction.
  • Liaise with other side’s lawyers, estate agents and professionals.
  • Participate in business development and marketing activities, such as the annual Private Wealth Seminar and writing articles for the Private Wealth Briefings.
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with at least 3‑4 years experience in residential property law.
  • Strong independent case‑management skills, capable of handling a workload with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with third parties and clients.
  • Excellent technical competency in residential property law, beyond procedural knowledge.
  • Ability to build your own caseload and contacts with the support of the Private Wealth Team.
  • Exceptional client care, teamwork, communication and networking skills.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure while prioritising workloads.
  • Commercial awareness.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with complex residential transactions (e. g., deeds of easements, transfers of part, unregistered land, Grade II listed buildings, private drainage systems).
