We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Records Assistant to join our Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury team. Based in our Marks Tey office, your role will be to coordinate and prepare chronologies of medical records and paginated bundles working alongside our in-house nurse.
Please note: This role will be Tuesday - Friday, 29.5 hours per week. We will be reviewing applications after 2nd September 2026.
Day to Day Duties will include:
- Making Access Requests for medical records with associated follow up
- Obtaining additional or missing records or information
- Inputting data into, updating and monitoring the Medical Records Database
- Perusing and collating medical records and advising on quality and when records are missing, or records are required from other healthcare providers
- Sorting medical records to produce relevant chronologies
- Paginating medical records
- Assisting with taking new claims enquiries and obtaining all relevant information when required
- Liaising with clients and third parties over the phone or by email
- Updating internal systems
- Assisting Fee Earners and carrying out other ad hoc tasks that assist the team
- Maintaining compliance in accordance with internal policies and GDPR
What experience do I need?
We are looking for an experienced medical secretary, nurse, Legal Administrative Support Secretary or Legal Assistant looking for their next role. You should demonstrate an interest in working within a Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury department and will ideally have previous experience of working in a role that has had to deal with medical records and chronologies.
What skills should I have?
- Conscientious and meticulous with great attention to detail
- Strong IT skills, particularly experience with having used customer/client databases and MS packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel
- Analytical skills
