We are looking for an experienced Property Litigation Solicitor to join our established Property Litigation team based in Witham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable team covering Property Litigation matters across the East Anglian regions.
You will be working alongside an experienced Senior Associate Solicitor as part of a team of five individuals who all specialise in Property Litigation work, covering but not limited to:
- Commercial and Residential Landlord and Tenant disputes
- Adverse Possession claims
- Boundary Disputes
- Easements
- Service Charge disputes
- Party Wall Act disputes
- Restrictive Covenants
This is an exciting opportunity to manage a varied case load, get involved with projects aimed at increasing our visibility in the market and for the right candidate, an opportunity to head up and deliver an internal business development project.
The day to day:
- Managing correspondence and document files for individual client matters according to H&H standards
- Work to deadlines/targets, to prioritise and manage a varied caseload
- Acting for an array of clients for both commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and other professional contacts
- Assisting in resolving matters and providing advice on boundary disputes, Party Wall Act matters, Restrictive Covenants, Easements, Service Charge disputes etc.
- Build, promote and market personal reputation on behalf of the firm for example attending networking events and identifying business development opportunities
What experience do I need?
The successful candidate will have a background in Litigation and have some background in Property Litigation. The role would ideally suit a candidate with at least 3 years PQE. However, we may consider candidates with less PQE if they are able to demonstrate independent working along with exposure to broad technical matter types.
Examples of typical work you will be involved in:
- Acting on behalf of clients on urgent matters, including injunctions for unlawful evictions and proceedings to recover large sums for damages.
- Acting on behalf of large developers, commercial companies, and individuals on varied property litigation disputes including lease renewal proceedings, dilapidations, section 146 claims, boundary disputes, easements and restrictive covenants.
- Acting on behalf of Residential landlords to instigate possession proceedings and undertaking advocacy at Court hearings.
- Proactively liaising with agents and tenants on behalf of landlords to obtain solutions regarding property management.
- Acting on behalf of large commercial clients in the first-tier tribunal regarding service charge disputes.
