Job Specifications:

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration nursing experience.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading nursing and care teams.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and people management abilities.

What does the day of a Unit Manager look like?

  • Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the unit.
  • Lead, motivate and support nursing and care teams to deliver exceptional care.
  • Ensure residents' physical, emotional and social needs are met through person-centred care planning.
  • Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, quality indicators and resident experience.
  • Oversee medication management and clinical governance processes.
  • Conduct clinical audits and implement action plans where improvements are identified.
  • Support recruitment, induction, supervision and development of nursing and care staff.
  • Work collaboratively with families, GPs, allied health professionals and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards, legislation and company policies.
  • Support occupancy growth through the delivery of high-quality care and positive stakeholder relationships.
