What does the day look like?

Assistant Cooks are invaluable to our services and play a key role in supporting the Cook with the smooth running of the kitchen and preparing delicious meals for our residents.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Cook to coordinate, prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • Working with the Cook to review menus
  • Ensure prepared food is of high quality and presentation
  • Adhere to individual dietary requirements and ensure adequate ingredients are readily available
  • Cleaning and maintaining a tidy kitchen area (floors, cookers, fridges, etc.)
  • Assisting with stock taking and the storage of goods, including checking deliveries

Qualifications

To be considered for this role you will have completed, or will be working towards, an Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate and will have a minimum of one year food service experience.
