We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to join our Family team in Witham. You will be supporting a team of 7 fee earners across all our offices and work closely with our 4 secretaries. Your primary role will be to support the fee earners in successfully running their cases and to generate your own fee income from processing matters on behalf of clients.
Our experienced Family team support their clients with a variety of family and relationship services including:
- Starting a relationship (Pre-Nuptial Agreements, Post-Nuptial Agreements, Cohabitation Agreements, Relationship Agreements)
- Divorce
- Separation
- Dissolution of civil partnerships
- Financial Settlements
- Children matters
- Domestic Abuse
Responsibilities
- Drafting originating, compiling and chasing essential case documentation
- Ensuring that case files are managed in accordance with the requirements of the Office Manual
- Initial fact-finding meetings and telephone calls with clients
- Drafting witness statements
- Progressing cases in the absence of Fee Earner
- Handling incoming telephone calls from new enquiries
- Handling telephone calls from existing clients requiring advice and updates on their cases
- Assisting with photocopying and preparation of court documents and trial bundles
- Such other matters as may be required to assist with the team
Relevant Experience
You should have a strong interest in family law with some experience of working within a law firm. You should be looking to take or have undertaken legal qualifications such as CILEX Level 3 or 6 and or have a law degree.
