We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Controller to join our Operations Team in Birmingham, UK. The role is permanent, with an annual salary of approximately £36,500, dependant on qualifications and experience. It offers a hybrid working model (3 days per week in office, Tuesday to Thursday) following successful completion of a probationary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure costs are managed effectively, vehicle availability is maximised, and customers receive exceptional service.
- Manage authorisation requests promptly and accurately, validating work and applying correct pricing and labour times.
- Challenge vendors appropriately and input all relevant information into Holman systems with high accuracy.
- Control downtime, conduct quality work progression activities, and update systems clearly and accurately.
- Engage with customers regarding authorisation activities, deliver cost-effective solutions, and update them on work progress.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Training
- Technical vehicle-related qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably including HGV and ancillary equipment.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- Good knowledge of vehicle compliance requirements and the importance of maintaining compliance.
Relevant Work Experience
- Experience in a workshop environment or similar.
- Experience working within a team in an office setting.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft applications.
