We are seeking a proactive, detailâoriented PartâTime Receptionist to join our Birmingham office. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, a strong customerâservice focus, and the ability to manage competing priorities. As this is a jobâshare role, availability to provide cover during the other receptionistâs leave is essential. The position is based at our Birmingham office near the NEC, working Monday and Tuesday, 08:30â17:00. This is a permanent role with a salary of ÂŁ10,819.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Answer, screen, and forward calls promptly.
- Welcome employees, clients, and visitors, ensuring correct signâin procedures.
- Monitor visitor access and perform basic security tasks, including issuing passes.
- Manage calendars, appointments, and meeting schedules.
- Ensure adherence to data protection policies.
- Provide administrative support and assist with departmental projects without disrupting call flow.
- Arrange taxi or train travel for employees, clients, and visitors when needed.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including courier arrangements.
- Prepare refreshments for meetings, including light lunches when required.
- Maintain a clean, professional reception area.
- Manage supplies for reception and meeting rooms.
- Log and report facility-related issues as needed.
- Support emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation lists, fire marshal duties where applicable).
- Manage shared inboxes.
- Perform adâhoc duties as required.
A good general level of education with sound administrative skills and good written communication is required. IT literate and proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite of products, i.e. Word, Excel & Outlook. Switchboard experience in a high-volume call centre or customer service environment preferred. Proactive, organised approach to multitasking and prioritisation. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels.
