You will ensure the site, employees, and operations comply with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.

The role covers risk assessments, inspections, training, incident investigation, and maintaining strong safety standards within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessments — Identify hazards, complete job hazard analyses, and support managers with control measures.
  • Site Inspections — Carry out routine plant inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Policies & Procedures — Develop, update, and implement H&S policies aligned with legislation.
  • Training & Inductions — Deliver toolbox talks, H&S training, and new‑starter inductions.
  • Incident Management — Investigate accidents and near‑misses, maintain records, and recommend preventative actions.
  • Reporting — Produce management reports, analyse trends, and create safety bulletins.
  • Equipment Safety — Support safe installation of machinery with Production and Maintenance.
  • Specialist Advice — Provide guidance on fire safety, hazardous substances, noise, machinery safeguarding, and occupational health.
  • Emergency Planning — Assist with emergency response procedures.
  • ISO Standards — Maintain and manage relevant ISO requirements.
  • Flexibility to support incident response outside standard hours if required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Health & Safety or NEBOSH (minimum) with 3+ years’ manufacturing experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Confident presenting and simplifying complex information
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail with an investigative mindset
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management
  • Digital skills for reporting and data analysis
