Key Responsibilities:
- Software Design: Gather and analyse requirements from internal teams and customers; Produce clear and concise software specifications; Contribute to design meetings and technical reviews.
- Software Development: Develop and maintain mobile phone applications (iOS & Android); Build Windows and web-based applications using modern Microsoft technologies; Work with SQL Server databases; Maintain and enhance existing systems including legacy applications; Contribute to source control and best-practice development processes.
- Software Testing: Write and execute test specifications; Participate in office-based and real-world field testing; Support beta testing with internal users and customers; Maintain high software quality standards.
- Software Support: Provide technical support via internal support teams; Carry out remote diagnostics and troubleshooting; Assist with software commissioning and deployment; Help improve support and release processes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain user manuals and online help content.
Skills & Experience:
- Essential: Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent commercial experience; Commercial experience developing mobile/phone applications; Minimum 3 years software development experience; Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail; Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively; Positive hands-on attitude with strong communication skills.
- Desirable Technical Skills: Mobile app development using MAUI (iOS & Android); C#; C; Visual Basic; MVC; SQL Server; HTML; CSS; JavaScript/TypeScript; React/Cloud-based development; Real-time or process-control software; GitLab or similar version control tools.
