Reporting to: Operations Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Field Operations Supervisor to support and develop Regional Service Technician teams across the Northern Region. This role plays a key part in ensuring consistent service delivery, technical excellence, safety compliance and a first-class customer experience. Covering the M62 corridor up to the Scottish Borders, the successful candidate will mentor and develop field technicians while maintaining high operational and professional standards across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities- Team Development & Performance
- Mentor, coach and support Regional Service Technician teams.
- Carry out structured reviews of technician skills, performance and competencies.
- Identify training needs and skills gaps, delivering targeted development solutions.
- Prepare and deliver tailored training modules, talks and sessions.
- Complete required courses and deliver training content effectively.
- Conduct regular site-based audits across multiple regions.
- Review and audit technicians' working practices, ethics, customer service and communication.
- Complete audits in line with company and customer requirements.
- Carry out HSQE audits, including RAMS understanding and safe working practices.
- Complete PPE, plant, equipment, vehicle and stock checks.
- Provide technical support to regional offices and manage customer escalations.
- Offer estimating support where required.
- Deliver IT training and support relating to service activities and field technician systems.
- Act as first-level escalation for out-of-hours on-call activity on a rota basis (UK-wide).
- Maintain and enhance communication across multiple office locations.
- Provide general support to regional offices when required.
- Research, review and propose additional training initiatives that add value to the business.
- Significant experience in the industry, with strong product knowledge.
- Proven experience in training, mentoring and supporting field-based technicians.
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the Northern region.
- Ideally based within one hour of one or more from the northern offices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical information.
- Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
