Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am - 4.30pm | Friday, 8am to 2pm
Reporting to: Head of Production
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activity, managing a team of skilled technicians, and ensuring vehicle conversions are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with confident people leadership and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of vehicle conversion technicians.
- Allocate workloads effectively to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Provide hands‑on technical guidance throughout the conversion process.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety‑focused working culture.
Production & Project Delivery
- Oversee vehicle conversion projects from planning through to completion.
- Monitor production progress and quality, providing updates to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all conversions meet client specifications, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Manage resources and priorities to achieve production targets and deadlines.
Technical & Quality Control
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues arising during vehicle conversions.
- Ensure all installations and modifications meet agreed quality standards.
- Conduct final quality inspections and confirm installation sign‑off.
- Identify, report, and address any non‑conformance or vehicle damage.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Ensure all materials, kits, tools, and equipment are available and checked prior to installation.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent production delays.
- Drive efficient use of materials, minimising waste and controlling costs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
- Carry out regular safety checks and address risks or concerns promptly.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulations relating to vehicle modifications and conversions.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and production processes.
- Implement best practice and support operational improvements.
- Assist with training and development of technicians on new methods and technologies.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and conversion processes.
- Proven experience leading or supervising teams in an automotive or production environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality.
- Effective time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required to meet project deadlines.
- Occasional travel may be required for off‑site inspections or meetings.
