About the Role

WH Scott Group is seeking a highly organised and proactive Lifting Gear & Warehouse/Workshop Controller to join our Bristol branch. This is a key role responsible for the management, control, inspection, certification, and coordination of lifting equipment and warehouse stock. The successful candidate will ensure that lifting equipment is maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance while supporting operational and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warehouse & Stock Control
    • Manage and control loose lifting gear warehouse stock.
    • Oversee goods-in and goods-out processes for lifting equipment.
    • Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
    • Coordinate storage and distribution of lifting equipment.
  • Inspection, Testing & Certification
    • Verify and certify lifting equipment in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
    • Coordinate internal and external inspections of lifting equipment.
    • Liaise with third-party inspectors and inspection bodies.
    • Maintain inspection, testing, and certification records.
    • Carry out inspection, maintenance, testing, and assembly of loose lifting equipment.
    • Ensure all equipment is fit for purpose and compliant with applicable standards.
    • Identify equipment requiring repair, replacement, or further inspection.
  • Administration & Coordination
    • Manage lifting equipment administration and documentation.
    • Coordinate lifting equipment service and supply activities.
    • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and customers regarding lifting equipment requirements.
    • Process sales orders and purchase orders for lifting equipment.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Perform QA/QC checks on lifting products and supplied equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lifting equipment operation.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in warehouse operations, stock control, or lifting equipment management.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Good understanding of quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience within the lifting, rigging, crane, marine, offshore, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of LOLER regulations and lifting equipment certification requirements.
  • Inspection or lifting equipment qualifications.
  • Forklift licence or relevant warehouse certification.
