We are looking for a self-motivated, driven individual who enjoys a challenge to work alongside our energetic team in Uffculme.

JOB PURPOSE

Our drivers are the face of our business and ambassadors for Maen Karne.

We strive to be No.1 for our customers and for drivers, and to do that we want the very best drivers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This is an important role within Maen Karne, with primary responsibility to:
  • Full responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of bagged aggregates to various customer locations across Devon and Cornwall.
  • Checking the safety and condition of the vehicle at the start of each day and recording its condition using the provided system, promptly reporting any faults.
  • Caring for the company’s vehicle and assets while in your charge and ensuring they are used according to manufacturer’s recommendations and all legal and company requirements.
  • Driving as efficiently and productively as possible within the prevailing road and traffic conditions.
  • Giving due consideration to the health and safety of self, the public and other road users at all times.
  • Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements.
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Adhering to safe working practices at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Representing the company on the road and at customers’ premises in a professional and considerate manner at all times and promptly reporting any issues to your manager or supervisor during the day.
  • Supporting the wider Maen Karne business to deliver its operational plans.
  • Maintaining compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • On-site training on the day of joining.
  • HGV Class 1 License.
  • Drivers CPC Card.
  • Valid Tachograph Card.
