We’re excited to be recruiting for an Environment, Sustainability Governance (ESG) Coordinator. This is a permanent role and can be located in our Crick (Northampton) or Thirsk (North Yorkshire) office.
Role Purpose
Meet ESG reporting obligations from customers, shareholders, regulators and voluntary frameworks by managing the reporting process — coordinating data collection from different functions and sites across the group, maintaining the ESG repository, verifying inputs and producing stakeholder outputs ensuring reporting is accurate, timely and traceable.
Key Responsibilities
- ESG Data Management – Maintain a single, structured repository for multi-site ESG data, ensuring version control, audit trails and full traceability of reported figures.
- Data Collection & Coordination – Manage standardised collection processes, calendars, templates, definitions and ownership across functions and sites, enabling verified data to be reused across reporting requirements.
- Reporting & Disclosure – Own the ESG reporting calendar and deliver accurate, timely customer, regulatory, shareholder and internal reports, questionnaires, dashboards, KPI packs and emissions forecasts.
- Data Integrity & Assurance – Validate submissions through systematic checks, investigate variances and reconcile data to operational and financial records; support external verification and audits with robust evidence.
- Project & Stakeholder Coordination – Coordinate sustainability projects, action plans and cross-functional working groups, securing timely input from colleagues and translating ESG requirements into clear operational actions. Act as day-to-day contact with retailers, regulators, verifiers and other ESG bodies; improve reporting systems and processes and monitor relevant changes in the ESG reporting landscape.
About you
- Advanced practical Excel — structured tables, lookups, pivots, conditional logic, charting.
- Ability to design and maintain a structured dataset from scratch.
- Numerical fluency, including units, ratios and conversion factors.
- Confident, professional engagement with colleagues at all levels, including Director level.
- Ability to secure cooperation without line authority.
- Clear, concise written reporting for non-technical audiences.
- Strong numeracy and literacy evidenced by qualification or experience.
- Rigour with data — any sector considered.
- Ability to plan and deliver multi-stakeholder work to deadline.
- Competence in scheduling, action tracking and status reporting.
- Ability to manage several concurrent deadlines without loss of quality.
