We are currently looking for a Surveying Technician to join our team in Theale as a Level 4 apprentice.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Surveying Technician Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience while working alongside an experienced Commercial team, developing the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in commercial management within the construction industry. You'll support the team with a range of tasks including preparing subcontractor payments, assisting with tender enquiries, monitoring project costs, processing variations, maintaining project documentation, and producing cost reports. You'll also visit live construction sites to help monitor progress, work closely with Surveyors, Site Managers and Estimators, and build positive relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. Every day will provide new learning opportunities, giving you practical experience while you work towards a recognised qualification.
Skills and knowledge you will bring:
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (C) or above.
- Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a commercial construction environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in construction, commercial management or quantity surveying.
- A Levels, BTEC, T Level or an equivalent Level 3 qualification.
- An interest in developing a long-term career within the housebuilding or construction industry.
- Previous work experience in an office, customer service or construction environment.
Additional information:
This apprenticeship is based 4 days per week in the office, with 1 day per week dedicated to off-site learning. You must be able to travel to Southampton for your weekly training day. Candidates must also be available to start on 21st September 2026.
