Job Title: Courier & Logistics Administrator

Location: Stoke on Trent

Hours: Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5pm

Are you an organised, customer-focused logistics professional who enjoys keeping shipments moving and delivering a great service? We’re looking for a Courier & Logistics Administrator to join our Stoke-on-Trent team, supporting the day-to-day coordination of courier and logistics activity across UK and European movements.

This is a varied role where you’ll manage shipments from quotation through to delivery, work closely with customers and courier partners, and help drive both service performance and profitability. Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Previous experience pricing courier network products and services, with confident negotiation skills (Background in Transport or Courier Departments essential).
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised and accurate, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
  • A good understanding of the factors that can affect the movement of freight
  • Confident using systems to input and analyse data and produce reports
  • A proactive team player who is comfortable solving problems and keeping things moving whilst working with drivers, warehouse staff, customer service and management.
  • Ability to drive and collect parcels from customers when required
  • Working under pressure – remaining calm and organised during busy periods
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with great attention to detail.
  • Manage courier shipments using GFS and Azyra, ensuring customer and financial information is accurate and up to date
  • Prepare quotations for import, export and domestic movements, negotiate rates and make bookings
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, courier suppliers, colleagues and third parties to ensure shipments run smoothly
  • Coordinate daily courier collections with the Transport team and arrange special handling for delicate cargo
  • Keep a close eye on costs and margins, helping to maximise shipment profitability without compromising service
  • Maintain the quote log, follow up with customers and play an active part in improving quote conversion rates
  • Support logistics projects, including inbound and outbound shipments for the EU warehouse
  • Update daily KPI activity across inbound, outbound and sample movements
  • Process courier and logistics costs and sales, liaising with EU brokers on customs processes and shipping lines for inbound deliveries
  • Stay up to date with legislation and wider factors that may impact freight movements
