DPS are seeking an experienced Service Engineer for various Commercial, Municipal & Industrial works throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland.This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious person to join a fast paced and innovative company.

Roles and Responsibilities;

  • Reporting to the Service Manager/Supervisor and providing daily updates on response and planned maintenance works order requests.
  • Support in the coordinating & planning of weekly schedules and being self-sufficient.
  • Work with a large range of mechanical/electrical equipment & materials.Including, but not limited to, pumps and specialist equipment in water and wastewater.
  • To investigate, inspect, maintain, repair and service a range of equipment on customer sites
  • To perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged equipment & installations as required.
  • Site visits as required to establish customer needs and develop plan for delivery of service.
  • Carry out preventative planned maintenance and breakdown repair on a range of equipment
  • Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers where relevant to identify correct replacement parts and procurement of parts when required.
  • Maintaining a high standard of service and communication with customers
  • Completing all job-related paperwork and documentation as required including filling out work reports and feeding back to the Service Supervisor on jobs
  • Ensuring that service is delivered in accordance with our standard operating procedures and in line with our electronic Service Management system.
  • Ensure service jobs are carried out in compliance with our HSQE policies and procedures and that where required, site specific MS and RA are issued in advance of works taking place.
  • Ensuring that emergency call outs are dealt with in an appropriate and efficient manner.
  • To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably be required from time-to-time

Skills / Attributes;

  • Previous experience working in water and wastewater applications
  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer with basic electrical experience is highly desirable
  • Willing to train junior employees/ apprentices
  • Excellent fault finding/diagnostic skills – particularly in water pumping applications and systems.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision
  • A clean Full UK driving licence
