Join our Eltham, London team as a Senior Building Surveyor with the potential for Project Team Leadership responsibility. Work on a variety of residential and non-residential projects with a focus on fire safety, internal and external works to HRBs and non-HRBs, with flexibility of hybrid working. This role offers the opportunity of progression into a Programme Manager position.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Conduct measured surveys of existing buildings or sites, showcasing your attention to detail.
  • Visit sites, carry out thorough inspections, and deliver comprehensive inspection reports.
  • Prepare Employer's Requirements for Design and Build purposes, showcasing your strategic thinking.
  • Invite tenders for the main contract, conduct tender analysis, and compile detailed tender reports.
  • Work on the full life cycle of projects, from specifications to schedules of work, demonstrating your comprehensive approach.
  • Fire Safety including internal works such as sprinkler systems, smoke vents, fire doors, etc., and external works such as cladding remediation.

Projects will be a variety of fire safety projects for housing developers, local authorities, and social landlords.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) status.
  • Building Surveying Degree (or Project Management).
  • Experience of various procurement routes, JCT/NEC.
  • Expertise in building surveying.
  • Must efficiently manage programs to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
  • Strong client interaction skills are necessary to build relationships.
  • Proven experience of managing projects across a variety of sectors and clients.
  • Fire Safety experience.
  • Building Regulations Principal Designer experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience in fire safety and good understanding of the Building Safety Act and Gateway process.
  • Able to lead a team and mentor and support colleagues.
  • Management of fees and developing fee proposals.
