We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated M&E Small Works Project Manager to join our Facilities Management team, supporting a multi-use traditional Hard FM maintenance contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mechanical and electrical small works projects across a diverse estate portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.

Position

This role requires a strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, excellent commercial awareness, and the ability to provide fast‑turnaround quotations while managing projects from initial client enquiry through to final invoicing:

  • Conduct site surveys and client consultations to identify project requirements then develop and manage the small works projects from conception through to completion and final account, whilst working within full compliance with current legislation, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Produce accurate, competitive, and timely quotations for a wide range of M&E small works activities.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure profitability targets are achieved by ensuring projects are closed out, tracking costs variations and revenue throughout delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and manage risks, variations, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle ensuring compliance with Health and Safety at work act.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, subcontractors, and specialist suppliers to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Understand and follow strict contractual processes, approval procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) whilst ensuring all project documentation is maintained and auditable.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, operational teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to identify and develop reactive and planned maintenance opportunities into small works projects.
  • Support operational teams with technical guidance relating to M&E assets and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Hold an industry recognised based qualification i.e., City & Guilds / NVQ or similar in an appropriate engineering subject.
  • Hold an industry recognised H&S qualification (SMSTS).
  • Experience proven track record of creating work and delivering small works.
