We’re looking for dedicated Waking Night Residential Childcare Workers to join our caring, experienced team in Formby.
About us: Family Care is a family-owned social care provider working therapeutically with children for over 30 years, we are committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child and young person can thrive.
About the role: As a Waking Night RCW, you will play a key role in ensuring the overnight safety and well-being of the children in our care. Working as part of a therapeutic team, you’ll contribute to a calm and secure environment where young people can feel protected and respected, even while they sleep.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To remain awake and vigilant for the duration of your shift ensuring young people are safeguarded throughout the night
- To undertake such domestic duties including cooking and cleaning that have been identified on the daily handover and passed to you by the Team Leader at the beginning of your shift
- To maintain a log of events throughout the course of your shift and prepare handover ready for staff in the morning
- To deliver personal care when guided by the young person’s care plan
- To be responsible for the security of the building for the duration of your shift
- To participate in training as directed by your line manager and if applicable complete diploma in line with Children’s Home Regulations 2015
What we are looking for:
- Ideally have previous Residential Childcare experience
- Experience with Learning disabilities or mental health support for adults and children is desirable
- Work on a Night shift/Rota basis - Waking Night shifts (152 hours per month)
- An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment
