Responsibilities:
- Giving input during shift handovers.
- Leading your shift to ensure high standards are maintained and other members of the team feel supported.
- Completing the daily medication rounds and documenting consistently without errors or any issues being picked up on the medication audits; ensuring the daily charts are completed to a high standard by all team members on all shifts you’ll be responsible for leading.
- Promoting good practice in all aspects of care, challenging poor practice from other team members.
- Ensuring one‑to‑ones for all care and support team members are done every two months.
- Investigating complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Role Requirements as a Senior Care Assistant:
- Relevant Professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum level 3 in Health and Social Care).
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Care Assistant in a residential/nursing home setting.
- Awareness of the principles of Person‑Centred Care Planning.
- Understanding of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
- Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Leadership and people skills.
- A caring and nurturing attitude.
- Positive and enthusiastic outlook.
- Written and oral communication skills.
