About the Role

Careline Lifestyles are seeking a dedicated Regional Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting individuals with complex needs, helping them reach their goals, and enhancing their overall quality of life. As a Regional Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with therapeutic practitioners to deliver high-quality support that enables service users to thrive. You’ll help individuals work towards their personal goals, support therapeutic sessions, and assist with clinical observations, documentation, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values meaningful interactions, and is keen to learn and grow within a supportive environment.

Duties and Role

  • To support the delivery of therapeutic intervention plans under the indirect supervision of the therapeutic practitioners within their sphere of competency.
  • To assist all identified service users to focus on their goals and aspirations and support with the achievement, documentation, and celebration of expected outcomes.
  • To support access to hydrotherapy, the following programmes set by physiotherapists.
  • To support the regular monitoring of hydrotherapy pools to ensure these are available for therapeutic sessions.
  • To support the planning, organisation and implementation of therapeutic group activities and other activities and events, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • To support the management of equipment stocks in line with company procedures and complete audits on equipment as required.
  • To assist PBS Practitioners in the reviewing of behavioural incidents, identifying trends and completing post-incident reviews.
  • To provide any additional funded therapy input as directed by therapeutic practitioners.
  • To support service users to access community based therapeutic activities by providing driving support using company vehicles.

Communication and Documentation

  • To form professional relationships with clients and their families, communicating with them in a way that they understand and respect their views, autonomy, and culture.
  • To complete professional contacts behavioural observation documents and relevant recording forms, for all interventions completed.
  • Develop listening and visual skills to obtain detailed and specific observations during assessment and treatment. The nature of the information being recorded may require a high degree of intense concentration over time to ensure accuracy.
  • To participate in regular supervision with line managers and direct colleagues.
  • To be confident in working with a multi-disciplinary team for the benefit of the service user’s care.
  • To support the development and review of care plans relevant to therapeutic input including behaviour support plans.
  • To contribute to both external and internal multidisciplinary team meetings and act as an identified point of contact for external professionals or family members when required.
  • To complete regular reports on therapeutic provision and outcomes.

Education and Training

  • To review and reflect on your own practice and performance through regular participation in professional supervision and appraisal.
  • To undertake relevant activities to meet training objectives identified with your supervisor.
  • To keep a record of your training and development activities.
  • To assist with the preparation, coordination, and delivery of a range of relevant training sessions and person-centred formulation sessions.

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards this)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern
  • Experience working with people who have:
    • Physical disabilities
    • Mental health needs
    • Special needs
    • Age-related support needs
  • A caring, proactive, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
