Failte Solar specializes in the supply and distribution of high-quality solar panels, battery storage solutions and energy efficiency upgrades. We help homeowners and businesses across Ireland harness the power of the sun to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints.

Failte Solar is currently recruiting a Financial Accountant to join our growing and experienced Finance team and play an important part in a sustainable energy future. The role is based in Redditch UK (South of Birmingham) and has an immediate start.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Responsibility for Financial aspects of UK operations
  • Based in Redditch office with responsibility for the day to day accounting and reporting of the UK entity (to Group FC and CFO based in Ireland)
  • Assist with EU subsidiaries (with support from Group financial controller)
  • Manage compliance and accounting requirements
  • Manage calculations and posting of intercompany transactions, including intercompany billing
  • Support base cost/overheads review each month
  • Preparation and posting of various month end journals
  • Preparation of Supplier and customer rebates calculations
  • Maintaining FX Register and I/C reconciliations
  • Manage preparation of the monthly management accounts
  • Manage and update monthly Balance sheet control files & reconciliations
  • Preparation and update of cash flow projections for the UK business
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Roll out and maintain policies and procedures of the Failte Solar Group
  • Business analysis/intelligence for operations
  • Other activities as typically required in the finance department
  • Supporting role in Group finance - Parent company & subsidiaries
  • Support the development of the yearly budget for the Group
  • Support the preparation of a reporting pack including a review of actual v budget performance and other KPI's
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other elements of month end routine
  • Review of weekly and monthly payroll journals
  • Preparation of monthly Management Accounts for all entities within Failte Solar Group
  • Manage allocated Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support the internal and external audit process
  • Business analysis/intelligence for operations
  • Other activities as typically required in the finance department

Overall we are looking for an experienced qualified accountant with attention to detail and works well in a team environment.

DO YOU HAVE THESE QUALIFICATIONS?

  • Strong Experience in similar roles
  • Located near the office in Redditch
  • 5+ years post qualification experience in similar role
  • Experience of Power Generation Industry, Construction & Engineering
  • Working knowledge of strong control environments

  • High MS Excel literacy
  • Experience with ERP systems (Eg Odoo)
  • Financially aware with high business partnering acumen
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Good communication skills - an ability to make finance important to non-finance people

  • Attention to detail
  • Project Based environment within Energy, Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering
