We have a fantastic opportunity for a Full‑Time permanent Dispatch Operative to support our supply‑chain operation and ensure our products go out on‑time and to the correct standard. If you have a passion for customer excellence and are a real team player, this may be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare pallets of stock for delivery/loading onto trailers and ensure product is built and wrapped in the best possible condition for the customer.
  • Ensure all tasks performed are as per training given and comply with safe working procedures.
  • Load and unload vehicles and trailers with fresh meat produce.
  • Operate reach truck to store pallets from production and drop pallets for order picking from the racking system (full training provided after probation).
  • Ensure customer orders are filled correctly, stock rotation is strict and loading of trailers is correct.
  • Maintain a competent level of arithmetic and accuracy when scanning stock on pallets.
  • Book in/out of product and keep the loading bay clean and tidy.
  • Work in a fast paced environment and liaise effectively with the team and sales department.
  • Stack trays/boxes onto pallets from the abattoir production line and assist fridge staff when required.
  • Complete daily forklift inspection reports after training.
  • Provide a polite and efficient service for calling customers and communicate well with the Despatch Supervisor and all other team members.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities, attend training and bring any skill shortfalls to the Supervisor’s attention.
  • Work to agreed training plan, ensuring understanding of expected standards and targets before commencing any task.
  • Carry out all assigned tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, particularly with regard to Health and Safety and Food Safety.
  • Use, maintain and report any defects in provided PPE.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to workloads/hours to meet throughput and yield targets.
  • Report equipment/machinery problems to management.
  • Adhere to company hygiene practices and safe food production at all times.
  • Comply with health & safety policy to prevent/minimise the risk of accidents.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
