We’re looking for a friendly, caring and reliable Housekeeper to join our dedicated domestic team at Frances Bolitho Care Home in Penzance, a welcoming 45-bed residential care home where our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Housekeeper, you’ll play an important role in creating a clean, safe, comfortable and homely environment for our residents. You’ll take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home, while working with care, kindness and respect. But this role is about more than keeping rooms and communal areas clean. Job Purpose

The role of the Housekeeper is essential in helping our residents live full, happy and healthy lives. You’ll take pride in maintaining a clean, hygienic and welcoming home environment that contributes to our residents’ comfort, dignity, wellbeing and quality of life. Your attention to detail and caring approach will help ensure Frances Bolitho remains a place where residents feel safe, comfortable and truly at home.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Dusting and polishing furniture, fixtures and fittings
  • Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks and countertops
  • Making beds and changing bed linen
  • Using cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops and cloths safely and effectively
  • Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels
  • Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces and communal areas
  • Tidying and refreshing residents’ rooms
  • Assisting with laundry duties and maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home
  • Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting when stock needs replenishing
  • Reporting any repairs, maintenance or environmental concerns promptly
  • Working alongside colleagues to maintain a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment
  • Interacting positively with residents, taking time for conversations, offering a friendly smile and helping to create a genuine sense of home

What We’re Looking For

Pay Scale – No Qualifications Required

£12.80 per hour – Standard Rate

£25.60 per hour – Bank Holiday Rate
