An opportunity has arisen for a Mixing Plant Operative to join award-winning manufacturer Liniar Ltd, based in Denby, Derbyshire – a subsidiary of the US-based Quanex group. Whether you’re already working in manufacturing, or looking for an exciting new challenge, Liniar is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Mixing Plant Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in our Mixing Plant process, supporting the production of high-quality materials that power our innovative extrusion operations.
As a Mixing Plant Operative, you’ll be responsible for the efficient operation and monitoring of our fully automated batching system. You’ll mix a variety of raw materials into precise blends that supply our Extrusion department via internal silos, hoppers, or bulk bags. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety and housekeeping are key to success in this role.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Observe all health and safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently.
- Carry out daily tasks in the mixing plant with consistent speed and accuracy.
- Operate machinery safely and effectively, in line with the correct operating procedures.
- Accept delivery of incoming raw materials and ensure the correct stock management process is followed.
- Ensure that all required quality checks are carried out as per the company standards.
- Understand and follow the production schedules.
- Ensure that mixing plant data is logged efficiently and accurately on the system.
- Work cooperatively with the team to meet customer requirements and team targets.
Key Skills
- Basic computer skills (SAP knowledge would be beneficial but not essential).
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good communication and listening skills.
- Good attention to detail and ability to self-motivate.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially the uPVC industry would be beneficial – but training will be provided.
- Previous experience of working in manufacturing / uPVC / extrusion would be beneficial.
- FLT license would be beneficial.
