Job Purpose:

This is a hands-on and varied role, working within an operational Anaerobic Digester & De Packaging plant, undertaking tasks including machinery operation, feedstock management, assisting with maintenance, administration and general upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of the plant during steady state, start up, shutdown and emergency situations as directed.
  • Safe loading/feeding of products into the digester
  • Support the team to implement and achieve operational targets
  • Ensure day to day compliance with all aspects of the Environmental Permit, reporting any non-compliance or incident to the Head of Technical.
  • Carry out routine plant inspections and adjustments/operations as required collecting and recording plant data.
  • Responding to first line and breakdown maintenance requirements as far as background and experience permits.
  • Maintain Feed Store and Raw Materials for AD Plant
  • Order product in line with accounts procedures
  • Coordinate deliveries to arrive to site in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Suppliers
  • Collections of samples for AD and De Pack plant including all incoming Raw Materials.
  • Co-ordinate intake deliveries of co products
  • Able to safely operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck, JCB loadall etc.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date records are maintained for all processes.
  • Work with Lead to ensure the AD/ Packaging infrastructure and maintain AD/ Packaging assets
  • Ensure all systems are in working order and that schedules are adhered to.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, perform routine maintenance tasks, and contribute to the overall upkeep of the AD/ Packaging plant.
  • Ensure all areas of the AD/ Packaging area are clean and tidy to the highest standards and well presented at all times
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve team goals and provide support across the site when required
  • Liaise and work with wider group team when required.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Always Adhere to the Companies Health and Safety policies and procedures and support the farms safety culture
  • Eliminate, minimise or isolate all Health, Safety or Environmental hazards
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in an on-call rota + working 1 in 3 weekends
