A fantastic opportunity has arisen within one of our prestigious London sites for a dynamic Loading Bay Manager. This role requires a highly driven individual with a proactive mindset to lead and oversee the efficient, safe, and secure operation of a busy loading bay and Service Road area. As a key part of the onsite leadership team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. You will champion a culture of excellence, delivering outstanding customer service to both clients and service users while maintaining strong, professional relationships with all stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring strong leadership capability, operational expertise, and a strategic approach to logistics, security, and team management. You will be confident in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, acting as a trusted point of contact for the client through regular, meaningful interaction. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the loading bay and Service area, ensuring efficiency, safety, and service excellence and adherence to the loading bay plan.
- Work closely with the core security team ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times.
- Ensure robust access control procedures are in place and adhered to for all vehicles and pedestrians.
- Oversee the use of CCTV and security systems, ensuring compliance and swift escalation of any concerns.
- Maintain a strong security presence and lead incident response when required.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery and dispatch process, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and vehicles.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and transport teams to optimise scheduling and minimise disruption.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Take full ownership of health and safety within the loading bay environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including vehicle movement control, pedestrian segregation, and PPE compliance.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and staff briefings.
- Oversee the safe handling, storage, and movement of goods.
- Ensure equipment is used correctly and maintained to required standards.
- Maintain accountability for stock movement and loading bay assets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client regarding loading bay operations.
- Build strong working relationships with internal departments and external contractors.

- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a logistics, security, or operational environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage teams effectively.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
- Experience across environments such as loading bay, gatehouse, corporate, retail, or events is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving ability, with confidence in decision-making and escalation where required.
- A customer-focused mindset, consistently seeking ways to enhance service delivery.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and security best practices.

- Banksman trained (desirable).
