We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Area Sales Specialist to join our dynamic feed sales team. We have positions available throughout the UK, covering the M6 corridor from the Midlands in the South up through Lancashire, Cumbria and we also have requirements in South West Scotland. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about developing, growing and maximising sales of Ruminant Feed and Retail Products whilst also being able to offer nutritional advice to existing customers and prospects.
The successful individual will enjoy serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are achieved.

THE JOB
- To achieve agreed sales targets through having a proactive approach to sales, making efforts to acquire new customers, maintaining relationships with existing customers and up‑selling our products and services.
- To have detailed product knowledge, explaining the features and benefits and an ability to offer nutritional advice to maximise sales.
- To manage a sales pipeline, identifying potential new business to drive sales performance.
- To communicate well in person, via telephone or email to articulate the benefits of products and services in order to maximise sales.
- To have product presentation skills to demonstrate our products and services and answer any questions that potential customers may have.
- To have negotiation skills and be able to understand the customers budget to offer competitive pricing options that meet the customers requirements.
- To manage customer debt in line with company credit policies.
- To organise and deliver customer meetings to promote Carrs Billington and the products and services that we offer.
- Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health & Environment.
- To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice are adhered to, in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS & NOPS assurance Schemes.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
- Experience of offering ruminant nutritional advice.
- Experience of driving growth in sales.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Experience of managing a sales ledger through the use of a CRM system.
- Competent IT skills and experience of the Microsoft Office suite.
