The Company: Here at Cambridge Commodities, we are a leading supplier of nutritional ingredients and product solutions to the sports nutrition, food and ensure all information on PO and SC is coherent.
- Keep ERP System updated when new information is provided by suppliers.
- Answering sales queries by checking information with suppliers; or information from interdepartmental teams.
- Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations, international trade laws, and company policies.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and suppliers to coordinate shipments.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve any delays, discrepancies, or customs issues.
- Maintain accurate records within internal systems and ensure audit-ready documentation.
- Providing support in answering customer queries relating to orders, shipments and deliveries.
- Supporting on shipping methods, lead-time, and stock allocations.
- Work closely with finance teams regarding duties, VAT, and shipping costs as and when necessary.
- Track and report on logistics performance and shipping schedules.
- Stay updated with changes in trade regulations and customs procedures.
Essential skills: To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- IT literate with proficiency in key Microsoft packages.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solver.
- Deadline focused with ability to balance daily tasks with long-term projects.
- Experience in import/export administration or international logistics.
- Knowledge of UK customs procedures and international shipping documentation.
- Experience with HMRC customs processes or CDS systems.
- Experience with Incoterms and freight management.
- Understanding of customs procedures including Customs Warehousing.
- Knowledge of commodity codes, tariffs and trade compliance.
