The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) is responsible for the coordination, control and assurance of all temporary works activities associated with the delivery of the Foul Treatment Plant (FTP), Potable Water Plant (PWP) and associated infrastructure works at Sizewell C. The role ensures that temporary works are properly designed, reviewed, approved, installed, inspected, maintained and dismantled in accordance with BS 5975, project procedures, client requirements and nuclear governance standards. The Temporary Works Coordinator acts as the focal point for temporary works management and provides assurance that all temporary works are implemented safely and effectively.

Working within a highly regulated construction environment, the TWC will liaise with designers, construction teams, subcontractors and project management personnel to ensure that temporary works are planned, coordinated and controlled throughout the project lifecycle. The role briefly encompasses the following duties but is not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage all temporary works activities across the project in accordance with BS 5975 and project procedures.
  • Maintain the Temporary Works Register and ensure appropriate categorisation, control and lifecycle management of all temporary works.
  • Coordinate temporary works design briefs, reviews, approvals, independent checks and design changes.
  • Ensure temporary works are implemented in line with approved designs, drawings and specifications.
  • Manage inspections, permits, audits and assurance activities, maintaining accurate compliance records.
  • Provide guidance and support to construction teams, including planning, risk assessments, sequencing and interface management.
  • Monitor compliance, identify and elevate risks or non-conformances, and support project governance and reporting.
  • Provide assurance to project management on temporary works performance, safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/attributes:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related discipline, with a valid CSCS Card and Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of BS 5975, temporary works procedures, construction health and safety requirements, and temporary works risk management.
  • Experience coordinating temporary works on construction or civil engineering projects, including management of registers, inspections and compliance documentation.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with designers, contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience supporting construction delivery through planning, design coordination, assurance and issue resolution.
  • Strong technical skills in engineering drawing review, design brief preparation, inspection and assurance processes, and documentation management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Commercial awareness including NEC contracts, change control, resource planning, and risk and opportunity management.

Desirable: SMSTS, NEBOSH, Temporary Works Supervisor training, APM qualification, and experience within major infrastructure, nuclear, energy, water or utilities projects.
