We are seeking a highly motivated and organised HGV Driver to join our dynamic team at our JEDBURGH Country Store. This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are achieved.

THE JOB

  • To operate the company vehicles to deliver customer orders to delivery point safely and effectively showing a high level of customer care at all times and organising the daily schedule of deliveries out of the branch.
  • To deliver outstanding service to customers, promoting the company brand and confidently identifying customers’ needs and solving their problems.
  • To ensure the vehicle is driven to meet the needs of the company’s Operator’s Licence, ensuring that the business always remains legally compliant.
  • To work in a safe manner ensuring that the health and safety of themselves, colleagues and other stakeholders, including the general public, remain the highest priority.
  • Adheres to daily tasks and routines ensuring they are completed in a timely manner with the ability to adopt a flexible approach to enable the fleet to run efficiently.
  • Accountable for ensuring that driving style and performance is regularly reviewed and acted upon to continually support the company in achieving its fuel efficiency standards.
  • Take a proactive approach to ensuring that any concerns regarding quality, service and environmental and safety issues are reported and addressed without delay.
  • Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
  • To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.
  • To support and contribute to the effective operation of the business as a member of the branch team, including ensuring adequate levels of all stocked products are maintained in conjunction with the Branch Manager.
  • To support the Branch in promoting the company brand and working to recognised business standards.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

  • LGV Licence (ideally Class 1)
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • FLT Licence
  • Flexible approach to work, including using smaller vehicles and branch/warehouse duties
  • Excellent communicator who can build strong working relationships with all colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to work independently using their own initiative.
  • Experience of Animal feed / Agriculture (desirable).
