Role Purpose
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a competent and proactive Hygiene Manager to take full ownership of the hygiene function and drive continuous improvement across our production site. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about excellence, eager to make a tangible impact and excited by the opportunity to shape and elevate standards within a thriving business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management & training.
- Oversee all hygiene schedules & cleaning procedures, with regular audits.
- Coordinate and execute deep-cleaning activities, including full equipment strip-downs.
- Support the Technical Manager with pest control and audit readiness.
- Conduct shift inspections to monitor safety and hygiene standards.
- Achieve technical targets for microbiological trends, HACCP & equipment release.
- Liaise with chemical suppliers to maintain hygiene audit systems.
- Investigate microbiological issues, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation in line with BRC Global Food Safety Standard Issue 9.
- Continuous improvement of the Hygiene QMS.
- Manage the prevention of build-up & contamination on equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of all hygiene & maintenance tasks & all relevant training records.
- Adhere to all health & safety and food hygiene standards.
