- Key Skills & Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Driver CPC Qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of Driver Hours & Working Time Regulations
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience I Class 1 role
- Minimum of 6 months working within a night role
- Experience operating articulated vehicles
- Strong commitment to health & safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- A team player with a positive can-do attitude
- Experience within a busy transport or logistics operation
- Moffett or other ancillary vehicle qualifications (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Safely move trailers and vehicles around the depot and yard
- Position trailers for loading, unloading, maintenance and dispatch
- Carry out vehicle and trailer safety checks
- Maintain accurate trailer movement records
- Work closely with transport planners, warehouse teams and drivers
- Keep the yard organised, safe and operationally efficient
- Report vehicle or equipment defects promptly
- Provide HGV driving cover for holidays, sickness and operational demands
- Complete collections and deliveries professionally and safely
- Ensure compliance with Driver Hours, Working Time and Road Transport legislation
- Deliver excellent customer service on every journey
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and support continuous improvement across the operation
