The Role
Working closely with the Catering Manager, you will help deliver outstanding food and exceptional customer service across the Fodder Kitchen (café) and Fodder Takeaway. This is a hands-on role leading the front of house team, motivating staff, and ensuring every customer leaves happy. You will support the smooth day-to-day running of the café, build strong relationships with the kitchen team, and take responsibility for running shifts — sometimes independently. You’ll ensure high standards of service, food safety and hygiene, stock control, and team knowledge, while promoting Fodder’s ethos of showcasing Yorkshire producers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coach the front of house team during service
- Deliver consistently excellent customer service and food standards
- Ensure strong product, allergen and menu knowledge
- Support stock control, ordering, waste reduction and promotions
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and food hygiene
- Work closely with kitchen and management teams
- Handle customer queries positively to ensure satisfaction
About You
- Passion for great food and Yorkshire produce
- Strong people management and customer service skills
- Organised, commercially aware and able to work under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene (personal licence and first aid desirable)
