About the role: GBA Global Solutions provides 24/7/365 UK national and global coverage from two main control centres and two hubs, focussed on domestic and European aerospace & airside logistics services (branded as ‘GBA Skyway’), and global forwarding. GBA Global Solutions is part of the GBA Logistics group, which has been delivering logistics solutions since 1987 and is a leading family‑owned logistics company, operating in the top 50 Logistics Companies in the UK with annual turnover in excess of £100m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily operations across Road, Air, and Sea freight modes during the night shift, including making bookings, issuing and completing AWBs, submitting customs declarations, issuing transit documents.
  • Ensure all shipments, including AOG and critical aircraft parts, are delivered on time and in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs in the production of Customs and Shipping documentation.
  • Review and verify Import and Export documentation and customs submissions.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to customers regarding shipment statuses.
  • Source freight rates and routing options from suppliers and prepare customer quotations.
  • Ensure accurate job costing and that supplier details are correctly recorded in internal systems.
  • Manage and prioritise workload.
  • Manage group mailboxes and respond in a timely manner.

About you

  • Has proven experience in a time‑critical logistics or aviation environment.
  • Calm under pressure – Able to remain composed and decisive when managing AOG and time‑critical shipments during high‑pressure situations.
  • Has a proactive, hands‑on approach and thrives under pressure.
  • Is IT proficient, including Microsoft Office and operational systems including ASM / Boxtop / CDS.
  • Highly organised – Capable of prioritising multiple urgent bookings, haulage arrangements, and mailbox queries simultaneously without compromising accuracy.
  • Proactive & solution‑oriented – Anticipates potential operational issues and takes ownership to resolve them quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong communicator – Confident liaising with airlines, hauliers, overseas agents, warehouse teams and internal stakeholders, particularly during out‑of‑hours operations.
  • Decisive leader – Comfortable taking responsibility and making operational decisions independently on night shifts.
  • Detail‑focused – Maintains accuracy in bookings, customs entries (CDS), documentation, and system updates (Boxtop/ASM).
  • Resilient & adaptable – Thrives in a fast‑paced, changing environment where priorities can shift rapidly.
  • Team‑oriented – Supports colleagues and fosters a collaborative, accountable night‑shift culture.
  • Full, UK driving licence with less than 6 points.
  • 5 year checkable employment history (no gaps in employment above 28 consecutive days).
  • Right to work in the UK & no disqualifying convictions for working airside.
