Role Definition
The Machine Setter will ensure that targets are met and regularly challenged and improved on. Delivering high standards of quality, ensuring product produced is to customer specification in line with critical control points, GMP and H&S requirements. Paying special regard to Quality, cost control, yield and utilisation; health, safety & ethics; product integrity; labelling and company, personal & food hygiene rules and legislation. To play a key part of the production team and effectively manage the day‑to‑day set up of machinery and production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up Packing Lines, Formers, Fillers, Mincers, Slicers, and Plc’s
- Carry out Start up checks
- Set up machinery to product specifications
- Changeover of equipment
- Carry out tool changes
- Liaise with managers/supervisor/engineering to ensure optimum efficiencies are achieved
- Drive a positive Health and Safety culture by always ensuring personal safety
Person Specification
- Proactive and ‘get it right first time’ attitude
- Computer literate with working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment
- Strong team collaborator
- Good understanding of spoken and written English language (This is an essential health & safety, traceability, team management and quality control requirement which will be tested as part of the recruitment process)
