The Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Butchery Assistant to join our team at ABP Penston.

The successful candidate will support the efficient operation of the butchery department by assisting with product handling, preparation, traceability, stock control, hygiene and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and handling of beef products within the butchery area.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, health & safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Ensure product traceability is maintained at all times.
  • Support butchers and supervisors with daily production requirements.
  • Accurately label, weigh and record product information.
  • Complete required paperwork and production records.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
  • Operate equipment safely following training and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and report any product quality, safety or equipment concerns.
  • Assist with stock rotation and management of work-in-progress materials.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
