As a key member of the Finance team, the Fund Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of the company’s financial operations. The role will be responsible for financial reporting, oversight of the fund accounting activities carried out by the outsourced providers, regulatory reporting and cost sharing reporting to the Partner Funds.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee the preparation of the annual reports and financial statements of LGPS Central Limited’s investment products.
- Assist in the completion of regulatory returns and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Work with internal and external auditors, supporting audit plans and ensuring smooth processes.
- Contribute to the preparation of the financial statements of subsidiary entities of LGPS Central Limited and reconciliations of balances and transactions between group entities.
- Contribute to the preparation of tax filings in respect of the investment products.
- Contribute to the management of VAT matters in respect of the investment products.
- Contribute to the preparation of regular Partner Fund reporting in respect of the investment products, in liaison with the Investments team and the Investment Operations team, including the provision of cost and performance information.
- Prepare and analyse cost transparency workings.
- Prepare and analyse cost and performance benchmarking data.
Forecasting & Treasury Management
- Oversee treasury management activities and cash flow forecasts in liaison with the Investment Operations team, ensuring effective risk management.
- Administer the settlement of accounts payable in respect of LGPS Central Limited’s investment products.
- Contribute to the development of the business cases for potential products, including the evaluation of the costs thereof.
Oversight of Outsourced Providers
- Oversee the work of the outsourced providers of fund accounting and financial reporting services to LGPS Central’s investment products.
- Perform checks, reconciliations and analyses of the output of the outsourced service providers.
- Liaise effectively with the outsourced service providers, including participating in regular meetings.
- Contribute to the performance management of the outsourced service providers.
- Work closely with the Investments and Investment Operations teams on a day-to-day basis.
- Manage external service providers, including the outsourced service providers, banking, auditing and tax advisory services.
- Support financial reporting and ad hoc responses to the Partner Funds and other key stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and ensuring compliance with key financial policies.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing improvements where needed.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide financial insights and advice to managers on projects, business cases and decision-making.
- Promote financial best practices and value for money across the company through training and advisory support

Requirements
- Able to communicate complex and highly technical matters in a way which is understandable and relevant.

- Active participant in continuous professional development, with an up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting, finance, investments and pensions matters.

- Highly organised and able to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities under significant time pressures.
- Good interpersonal, communication and people management skills.

Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Meets all the requirements of being an FCA approved person .
