Purpose of the role

As Finance Transformation Lead, you will be responsible for owning and delivering a high-impact finance transformation agenda to support the Group’s growth and value creation objectives.

Working closely with the senior finance leadership, you will drive the design and execution of a scalable, efficient, and well-controlled finance operating model, underpinned by simplified processes, modern systems, and strong governance.

You will bring pace, structure, and execution discipline to a broad portfolio of initiatives, ensuring the finance function is equipped to support growth, integrations, and increasing complexity.

The role requires experience in change leadership capable of balancing strategic design with hands-on delivery, while maintaining a strong focus on financial control, reporting quality, compliance, cash generation and operational excellence.

As a trusted senior member of the finance team, you will work across all aspects of the finance function, helping to strengthen capability, improve performance and embed sustainable change.

Accountabilities

• Lead the end-to-end finance transformation programme, establishing appropriate governance, priorities, milestones and performance measures to deliver the Group's finance strategy and value creation objectives.
• Design and implement a scalable finance operating model across people, processes, systems, controls and data to support business growth and increasing organisational complexity.
• Review, simplify and standardise core finance processes (R2R, P2P and O2C), driving automation, efficiency, control and consistency across the Group.
• Lead finance systems strategy and execution, including optimisation, process automation, reporting enhancements and data quality improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen the Group's financial control environment by improving governance, balance sheet integrity, compliance, reporting processes and risk management frameworks.
• Drive improvements in management reporting, month-end close, working capital, cash flow forecasting and performance insight to support better decision making.
• Ensure finance processes and systems support compliant and accurate reporting under FRS102 and are fit for purpose in a multi-entity environment.
• Support acquisition activity, including finance due diligence, integration planning and the successful onboarding of acquired businesses into Group processes, controls and systems.
• Develop and implement standardised finance policies, procedures and operating frameworks to embed consistency and best practice across the organisation.
• Partner closely with the finance leadership team and operational stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, challenge existing ways of working and deliver sustainable business benefits.
• Provide leadership, coaching and direction across finance teams, building capability, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Deliver measurable outcomes including enhanced financial control, improved operational efficiency, accelerated reporting timelines, stronger cash performance and increased organisational scalability.

Skills/Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience gained within PE-backed, high-growth or complex multi-entity organisations.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale finance transformation programmes across people, process, systems and controls.
• Strong understanding of financial control, statutory reporting, consolidation and governance requirements.
• Deep knowledge of FRS102, including revenue recognition, leases, acquisitions and group reporting considerations.
• Experience operating within, or closely supporting, a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller or Finance Director environment.
• Demonstrable experience of improving month-end close, reporting quality, balance sheet control and finance operating effectiveness.
• Experience of system implementation, finance systems transformation and process automation.
• Strong commercial mindset with experience delivering measurable value creation, cost efficiencies and cash improvements.
• Excellent programme leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively at Board and Executive level.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations and organisational change.
