The Role
This is a pivotal leadership role with full responsibility for the day‑to‑day performance and efficiency of the manufacturing site and wider facilities. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee all operational activities while delivering on strategic objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in ensuring safe, compliant, and cost‑effective operations, while developing and leading a high‑performing operations team in a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site operations including manufacturing, production planning, procurement, distribution, despatch, maintenance, and facilities
- Deliver operational targets on time, in full, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards
- Champion Health & Safety and environmental compliance with a strong Zero Harm culture
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen, OEE and modern manufacturing principles
- Manage operational budgets, forecasting, cost control, and resource planning
- Develop, coach, and inspire operational managers, team leaders, and wider teams
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and all legislative and regulatory requirements
- Build effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Support new product introductions, engineering improvements, and strategic projects
- Monitor and analyse operational data and KPIs, taking corrective action where required
About You
You will be a hands‑on, commercially aware manufacturing leader with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, comfortable operating at senior level in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- 3–5 years’ experience in senior operations or site/plant management
- Proven leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and ERP systems
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and environment standards (IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and cross‑functional teams
- Ability to lead change effectively while bringing people with you
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
A relevant degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or Business is desirable.
