Purpose

Dash Express, a member of the Palletways network, is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence.

As a Class 1 HGV Trunking Driver, you’ll play a key role in moving palletised goods between depots and distribution hubs, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

We provide everything you need to succeed, including a modern fleet, fuel, uniform, support infrastructure and of course a meal allowance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class 1 HGV pallet vehicles for trunking routes between depots and distribution centres.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Ensure accurate loading and securing of palletised goods, following health & safety and company standards.
  • Complete scheduled trunking runs on time, maintaining compliance with company procedures.
  • Use HHT (Handheld Terminal) for scanning consignments and reporting discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding delays, issues, or route changes.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and collection records and complete end-of-day debrief.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and refuelling at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere to driver hours regulations, tachograph compliance, and all legal requirements.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence and up-to-date CPC qualification.
  • Previous experience in HGV or long-haul HGV pallet driving.
  • Strong understanding of driver hours regulations and road safety.
  • Good time management and reliability.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • All of our staff must pass a basic DBS check.
