Join LGPS Central at a pivotal moment, where investment meets long term impact. We are launching a major recruitment campaign for experienced Investment Analysts to support how we invest, advise and deliver for Partner Funds as the LGPS landscape changes through the government’s Fit for the Future reforms. As the pension landscape evolves through pension reform and strengthening of the LGPS framework, the role of investment teams in delivering resilient, efficient and responsible outcomes has never been more critical. This role is part of our newly created Alternatives and Hedging Solutions team, an exciting opportunity to grow your career in Investments.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver high quality research and analysis to support investment decisions across the Alternatives (diversifying hedge funds, ILS and other absolute return strategies) and Hedging Solutions (e.g. currency hedging, equity protection, LDI, gold).
  • Support manager research, selection and ongoing monitoring, including operational due diligence where required.
  • Build and maintain investment papers, committee materials and reporting that is clear, evidence based and decision ready.
  • Analyse performance, risk, exposures and portfolio positioning, and turn this into practical insight.
  • Embed responsible investment and stewardship considerations into analysis and recommendations.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, the Risk team, Responsible Investment and Stewardship colleagues, and external managers and providers.

LGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA regulated asset manager for fourteen local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing £100bn+ of their assets. It is one of six Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) asset pools in the UK. LGPS Central’s Partner Funds are: Sulfolk County Council.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in an asset manager, asset owner, consultancy, bank or similar investment environment.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the judgement to focus on what matters for outcomes, risk and value for money.
  • Strong quantitative and IT skills, preferably with familiarity in systems used for screening and performance and risk analysis.
  • Clear written communication, including the ability to produce concise decision papers.
  • A practical understanding of responsible investment factors within investment analysis.
  • Completed or progressing towards IMC, CFA or equivalent qualifications, or a clear commitment to professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level or equivalent.
