Owens Group are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable and organised person to take responsibility for the learning, development and delivery of HGV driver training. You will be joining our large team of trainers across the UK working from our Carrington Depot.

Qualifications and Training
- Driver and Training and Assessment Related qualifications (RTITB, RHA, SAFED and/or equivalent) (Desirable)
- Train the Trainer Qualification/Assessor Qualifications (Desirable)
- JAUPT approved training assessor (Desirable)
Experience
- Development of Training Course Materials and Driver Handbooks;
- Understand and adhere to Legal Requirements i.e. Health & Safety
- Problem solving/logical thinking
- Understand Learning Styles to get the best out of the trainee
- Full proactive Compliance Management
Skills
- Full UK HGV Driving Licence
- Demonstrate ability to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials in line with course requirements
- Ability to influence and being able to communicate at all levels
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office and TruTac
- Good communication skills, interaction at all levels internal and external.
- Ability to maintain high standards whilst working under pressure
- Team player with a flexible 'Can Do' attitude
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in achieving full legal compliance with the Operators License, Health and Safety and Driver Hour Regulations.
- Design and develop and deliver effective driver Induction and Training programmes, and regularly monitor and review accordingly and ensure Statutory Training requirements are met.
- Implementing appropriate courses including tachograph, manual handling, fuel management, defensive driving and safety training.
- Classroom presentations on Highway Code, Drivers hours, Safe Loading (Steel), Health & Safety, and working time directive rules and regulations.
- To design and implement training and development programmes as appropriate to improve operational efficiency.
- Produce training materials for in-house courses and manage the delivery of training and development programmes.
- Give consideration to costings of such planned programmes and keep within budgets as assessing the return on investment.
- Keep up to date with developments in training i.e. reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses.
- Reviewing data from the in cab telematics and Tachograph analysis systems including Driver Hour Infringements, MPG, Idling, Harsh Braking/Acceleration and agreeing a corrective training plan.
