Compliance Nurse

Connected Health are seeking a Nurse to provide complete clinical oversight, ensuring high standards of competence, compliance, and care quality. The post-holder will lead on governance, compliance and staff training — supporting operations teams to deliver safe, person-centred care in line with RQIA standards and HSCT requirements.

This will be a Part time role

Salary: £42k to £48K, depending on experience (pro rata for part time hours)

Main Duties

Quality Governance, Clinical Compliance & Training

• Maintain complete oversight to ensure high competence and compliance levels, reporting any areas of concern
• Anticipate and identify service improvements required and address deficiencies in quality — including service development needs, education development, and assistance in developing policies, audit processes, and patient safety initiatives.
• Ensure clinical compliance in line with current RQIA Regulations and HSCT commissioner requirements.
• Provide clinical input to assist in RQIA inspection preparation
• Assist the operations team with clinical compliance reviews in line with priorities.
• Maintain oversight of all governance and clinical issues within the area, providing weekly updates
• Identify clinical governance patterns or trends requiring escalation or investigation and assist with same.
• Assist the compliance team with internal audits of client and staff files, with particular focus on the clinical aspects of assessments and care.
• Provide day-to-day clinical support to operations teams across your area as part of the wider governance team.
• Establish and maintain quality improvement tracking and other information relevant to patient care.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement across services.

Clinical Support & Care Planning

• Provide clinical support and assist with complex patient care reviews and assessments.
• Carry out regular clinical risk assessments to identify and mitigate risk
• Lead the quality audit of individual care plans — ensuring each is person-centred, reflects current assessed need, and meets RQIA and HSCT standards.
• Support on complex clinical and care needs, referring to Safeguarding where appropriate.

Training & Staff Development

• Deliver staff training for induction, epilepsy awareness, and specialist modules (e.g. medication administration, catheter care, wound care, PEG feeding).
• Support service development training initiatives, including in areas such as intellectual disabilities and dementia awareness.
• Ensure appropriate training is in place for all care staff and advocate for identified training needs.
• Identify training gaps through compliance audits and incident trends, and propose improvements to enhance care quality.
• Work with the People & Training team to ensure clinical training content meets NI regulatory requirements

Note: This list of duties is not exhaustive. The post-holder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to change as the needs of the service evolve.

• Active registration on the NMC Register — General Nurse Division (RGN)
• Minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience, including experience in an acute or community care setting
• Current, full clean driving licence
• Strong teamwork ability alongside a high degree of self-motivation to work independently

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Previous experience working within home care or domiciliary care
• Certification in wound care
• Certification in epilepsy awareness
• Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification
• Level 6 Patient Moving and Handling Trainer qualification
• Experience of audit report writing and clinical documentation
