Location: East Midlands - Covering LE/CV/NG/DE postcode areas

We’re recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join our team, covering the East Midlands in the LE/CV/NG/DE areas. You don’t need to come from a traditional engineering background to succeed here. This role is ideal if you’ve worked in a hands‑on, practical environment and are comfortable using tools, fault‑finding and working independently. Experience involving electrical work, joinery, mechanical tasks or installation‑based roles is beneficial and full training is provided.

You’ll spend your day installing, servicing and repairing our stairlifts in customers’ homes. Just as important as technical ability is your drive to do a great job, manage your own workload and deliver a positive, professional customer experience. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning their day, planning their time effectively and pushing themselves to succeed. A full, clean driving licence is required as you’ll be travelling within your region, and you’ll take part in a 1‑in‑4 on‑call rota, with additional payments for call‑outs.

Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
  • Weekend availability
  • 1 in 4 on‑call rota for evenings and weekends (paid if called out)

Requirements

  • Experience in a hands‑on, practical role, comfortable using tools and working in customers’ environments
  • Exposure to electrical work, joinery, mechanical tasks or installation‑based work (advantageous but not essential — full training provided)
  • A strong work ethic and drive to succeed, with the motivation to maximise performance and earnings
  • The ability to manage your own time effectively, plan your day and work independently
  • A customer‑focused approach, with good communication skills and a professional manner
  • Confidence working alone while also being part of a wider team
  • A flexible attitude, including willingness to work overtime and take part in an on‑call rota
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Good local or regional geographic awareness

What’s in it for you

This role offers strong earning potential for people willing to put the effort in. With overtime and performance, a very realistic OTE of £45,000 is achievable, and top performers regularly earn £50,000+. You decide how far you want to push your earnings.

Your package includes:

  • Consistent overtime opportunities to significantly increase earnings
  • Company vehicle with private use
  • Company contributory pension and 3x life assurance
  • Flexible benefits platform, including healthcare, gym membership and high‑street discounts
  • Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family
  • Fully funded training and continuous development
  • Career progression opportunities across Handicare and the wider Savaria Group
