The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Site Engineer to work on our Thames Water Wastewater Asset Assurance programme. Our Site engineers are an integral part of our project team, safeguarding and managing the delivery of the on-site civil works. At Glanua, Engineers are presented with the opportunity to showcase their skills and really leave a mark on a project. Furthermore, this is a great opportunity which gives you visibility and involvement of the whole lifecycle of a project.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Proficient Communicator: must be able to clearly communicate project details.
- Problem solving ability: adept at quickly identifying and resolving issues that may arise.
- Technical competence: a strong understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project.
- Client relationship management: building and maintaining positive relationships.
Technical Duties
- Management of site control & setting out.
- Ensure accurate information is available for subcontractors.
- Managing subcontract packages of works.
- Quality control of sub-contractor works.
- Design Coordination: Ensure the model and drawing are accurate and constructible. Raise any issues or requests for information with the Design team in a timely manner.
- Quality Assurance: Compiling Inspection & Test Plans in line with company procedures and project requirements. Completing Inspection & Tests Reports and raising Non conformances as required.
- Compile as built as the construction progresses.
- Site reporting; Contribute to labour and material cost reports.
- Procurement: Liaise with Commercial team to ensure packages are procured in accordance with programme requirements.
- Weekly/4 weekly Look ahead programmes.
- Checking delivery of works against design.
- Contributing to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Health & Safety; Complete site inspections.
- Compiling handover documentations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering / Building.
- Experience in groundworks, reinforced concrete and temporary works.
- Previous use of Total station and GPS.
- Knowledge of CAD.
