Our Children's Service in Mirfield is looking for Support Workers to join their service to support our children with complex needs. Orchard Court is our children’s residential home in Mirfield. It boasts seven accessible, en-suite rooms, all of which are wheelchair adapted and fitted with tracking hoists. Since Orchard Court is a home – and a happy one at that! – for children, the communal spaces throughout the home feature paintings and artwork on the walls that have been handpicked to bring a smile to the faces of the children. There’s always lots going on at Orchard Court, with an activity calendar coordinated by a team that brings fun and laughter to the home.

As a Children’s Support Worker, the aim is to provide day-to-day holistic support to our children and young people following the eight intrinsic principles. To ensure the highest quality of care, support, and community experience to assist our children and young people who have a range of complex disabilities to maintain a degree of independence and improved quality of life. Your day-to-day work will centre on building trust, encouraging positive routines, and helping each child develop confidence and life skills. The position is for day shifts only; you will be required to do a mixture of mornings and afternoons, as well as alternate weekend working. The option to do long shifts is available once settled.

Hollybank Trust is committed to safeguarding vulnerable people, and our Safer Recruitment process requires all employees to have an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with our Recruitment & Selection policy. We will pay for your initial DBS check, unless you have a portable DBS; however, if the candidate leaves voluntarily within the first 12 months, £58.90 will be deducted from your final salary payment.
