Position
The role of our Catering Service Engineer centres on maintaining catering assets to a high operational standard, ensuring all equipment is serviced, safe, compliant with legislation, and used correctly. It involves monitoring asset condition to support timely replacement planning and minimise downtime, as well as sourcing cost‑effective spare parts and identifying opportunities to introduce improved alternatives. The job also requires advising on misuse when equipment isn’t utilised properly and staying informed about new or updated catering equipment through research and manufacturer training.
To carry out installation and maintenance of relevant trade in domestic and commercial buildings including general plumbing, electrical, gas and refrigeration duties, repair works and minor installations of all catering equipment. To work with line manager and provide advice and information relating to any technical matters. Be commercially aware and be responsible for ordering required materials from suppliers in an efficient manner, following the company’s purchasing procedures. To supervise, direct and positively motivate junior staff and/or apprentices who may be appointed to assist and support the wider performance of this role.
Requirements
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ)
- Fault-finding experience on control systems
- Understanding of Safety Regulations
- Knowledge of different Maintenance Techniques
